Intermittent airbag MIL, dealer claims no stored codes!
STFA, but didn't find mention of the system NOT storing codes - does it clear certain faults if they go away? E.g., loose connections, etc. Light only comes on in morning when cold, goes off shorty thereafter. TIA

I had this happening on my '99 2.8...
The light eventually stayed on the whole time. IIRC, it was due to a small spring (in the steering wheel / column connected to the driver's side airbag system (I think some sensor or something)) loosing it's springiness. Might make sense in your case given that the light is coming on when it's cold - i.e. when the spring might be stiff.
Anyhow, sorry can't be of more help - wish to god I remembered the exact part, but for what it's worth... good luck...

Here's the solution (hopefully!)
I had the same symptom on my '00 2.7T last year. Light would come on steady when cold, then start blinking and finally go out. I used VAG-COM to check for codes, but none were stored. I then cleared codes (even though there weren't any), and that fixed it! Hasn't recurred since.
