Default intermittent power steering boost

I am having intermittent steering boost failure at low speeds on my '00, 2.7T tip, 5000 miles. I don't loose all boost, I can turn wheel with one hand. Usually after braking for a 10-20 mph turn, only happens every few days, lasts a few seconds. 90% of the time it is on right turns. Dealer replaced relay (pulled latest version from new car) and cleaned electrical contacts. Didn't help. Also 3 times, transmission clunked very hard into gear when making similar turns (not in tip mode). Don't know if this is related. Dealer is asking AoA if they can put 2 temporary ground wires in to troubleshoot the numerous grounds in system. Any ideas?

Default I've noticed this too

I notice it nearly every time I drive into my office's parking lot. It's a slow right hand turn up a driveway. I assumed it was simply speed-sensitive power steering behaving normally. The decrease in boost is consistent and relatively minor. It is somewhat distracting, though.<p><a href="mailto:jim@vipmail.com?Subject=AudiWorld Post">Jim</a>, <a href="http://registry.audiworld.com/audi/registry/details.asp?car=5430">'00 A6 4.2</a>

Default Anyone know how to dissable to the speed sensitive power steering? (more)

I find the boost to be excessive and would love a way to have less boost. Maybe there is a way to make the system default to the high speed boost characteristics all of the time.

Thanks, I will mention the pump to the dealer. To answer cmos9, I understand that if you remove the relay ( I don't remember the relay number), the steering does not provide extra boost at low speeds. Jim, when I lose boost it is a sudden, large increase in effort.
