Default Intro and t-belt question!

Hi all! I'm a new owner of an S6 (bought off fellow AW'er from MI) and I love it so far! It is due for a timing belt, and with the tools and bentley in hand I'm not worried about doing the job. For the most part it looks very straight forward, except for one bit that's bugging me.

Center Bolt for the crank shaft...Bentley says I don't need to take it to remove the dampener, cool, but if I do need to take it out (for crank seal) or whatever is where I'm a little bit confused.

Bentley doesn't reference any special tool needed to lock the crank for bolt removal, and only tool listed to lock the crank is the pin you thread into the block (which i have). Is this enough to remove/install the center bolt with? Know its torqued on there pretty good. I have heard varying opinions on the matter and just want to hit up a larger crowd.

And yes I STFA and couldn't find an details specfic about it, probably because its retarded question I know....

Thanks for the input and help!

The pin is more than enough.

Default I used the pin also but for insurance

I took the old belt and wrapped it around the crank gear and clipped it with vice grips. That helps to hold in place while you take the bolt out. maybe overkill but it gave me pice of mind.
