Default Issues with AWE DTS - damaged chassis threads

Just wanted to let you know about a problem I've had after installing the AWE DTS. It appears that, if you re-use the existing 110mm bolts, there is only part of the bolt thread inside the threads in the chassis (due to the 3/8" thickness of the DTS), which can result in them stripping.

My tech discovered this last week, and the solution was to find new 130mm bolts and re-tap the chassis threads.

So if you're planning to install one, check that 130mm bolts are included in the kit, and if not purchase some before you start.

I told AWE about this but their response was just to assure me that there can't be a problem as they've been making this kit for years.

Don't forget the factory bolts ARE NOT reusable. They're torque to yield. They MUST be replaced.

Default Interesting - they should supply some with the kit - don't know about generally,

but I didn't get any.

Default They did at one time. They were the wrong kind though. (not TTY)

I also had stripped a chassis nut. Had to have a helicoil put in mine to fix it.

Default I'm just most annoyed at their attitude. There can't be a problem with the hardware.

No apology, no we'll fix the hardware kit, nothing.

They include enough washers yet? (they didn't when I bought one last year).
