Just installed h & r's, i have about 1 finger clearance front and back, now clunking

Just installed on my a6 4.2 and it looks great but when going over aggressive bumps ect, i can hear a clunk coming from the front, do i need to raise it. I checked all suspension bolts and everything is tight, could i have made everything too tight.

H&R coilovers or springs only?

did you put the stock bump stops back in? if you put them

in the wrong order, it could lead to clunking.

Perhaps its too low and is bottoming out?

Measure the ground to fender in inches and let us know.

coilovers, certain i put the stops back in correctly, i will raise it about an inch and retry

I've heard a lot of people complaining about clunking H&Rs

For some, it's the springs themselves - the coils knocking as they compress.

Does it happen at speed, or do you hear it over slight road imperfections, more clearly when moving failry slowly?
