The remote to my 98 a6 won't work. Replaced batteries and tried the 60 seconds press and manual lock/unlock. still won't work. Any ideas?..Is there a way to reprogram?

1."To synchronize, press button A (unlock) or C (lock) ONE time.
2. "Then, within one minute, lock or unlock the driver's door with the MASTER key".(The switchblade remote).
It's supposed to work now.
Hope that helps.
Let me know if you want the actual page faxed.

You will need two keys, switch blades or emergency plastic, to reset any number of remotes, up to the 5 memory positions limit.
1. With a key, turn the ignition to RUN, one click.
2. Close and lock the Driver's door with the key on the first remote to be reset, leaving the key in the lock.
3. Press the UNLOCK button ONCE only to access memory position #1. The lights will flash once but the door will remain locked.
4. Using the key still in the door, UNLOCK and LOCK the door.
This remote should now be reset in memory position 1. Remove the key and test the remote.
5. To reset additional remotes repeat the procedure but in step 3 press the UNLOCK button TWICE for the 2nd remote reset access into the second memory position, etc. up to 5 remotes into the 5 memory positions.
