I know on the A4 you can program the seat so when you unlock the car with a certain keyfob it will move the seat for that person. My friend's dad just picked up a new A6 and I was wondering if you can do that for it. If so how? Thanks.

After the memory/seat is set, hold down the number button of the stored memory while holding down the "unlock" of the remote for about 2 seconds. After that you just hit the "unlock" before entering the car and the pre-set seat memory will engage.

You should forward to your friend's dad. Saholz answered the question at hand; this answers many more.

Links for Audi A6 Owners, C5 Platform, 1998-2003 (Frequently Asked Questions)

One of the tricks I picked up in this forum that I use is that I set memory 3 to having the seat all the way back and key it to my remote. When I unlock the doors with the remote the seat moves back for easy entree. I hit my memory button with the door still open after I sit and the seat moves to my driving position. If I close the door first I have to hold memory button until seat returns to driving position. I forgot who posted this suggestion originally so I can't give credit but thanks.
