Default Keyes Audi - Van Nuys

Just called to get my car serviced here & to my disbelief, they don't offer Audi loaners. They use Enterprise & informed me that I will only be able to get a loaner with the major service (32.5k service). Where its mainly just the oil and spark plug changes & the rest are just 'look & see if ok' items. What kind of crap is this...for a dealership that sells cars at MSRP or higher, this is surely a crappy service department. I don't think I will be taking my car here for service, I'd rather take it to Rusnak, where its near my work.

Any comments or suggestions? My '00 A6 4.2 deserves better than this.

Default A-B in San Jose is same, mostly use Enterprise, but

so far I have had no problem getting a loaner for all services, scheduled and unscheduled. Of course, last time they put me me in an Escort, but I complained a lot. Let their service writers know how you feel, and if you get a call from AoA, let them know of your dissatisfaction as well.

Wow, that was a nice reply.
Dont you guys have better things to do than lurk on the A6/S6 Forum? *grin*

Anyways, I forgot the good part. Apparently the guy put me on hold while he was calling Enterprise to see when I can come in for the appointment & also have a car set aside for me. Well, after 5min. of putting him on the speakerphone here at work... I had enough and I hung up. With this kind of service, I wonder how they sell their cars. I can get better prices from online car dealers!!!

Frustrated,

Default It's just a loaner

Did you buy the car there? That shouldn't make a difference but it might. Remind them that AoA reimburses for loaners, and call AoA if need be.

Beverly Hills Audi also uses Enterprise, why does it matter what kind of loaner you drive for a day? It's a waste of a good car to turn it into a loaner, esp. with Audi selling all their inventory over here.

Default Well...

I dont think anyone pays MSRP for cars anymore. Got our A6 for a good deal below MSRP. As far as getting loaners, As long as its not a Metro, I really don't think it should matter what loaner you get. I don't think any company would want to use their good cars as loaners, although it would be nice.

If the dealer refuses to give you loaners to start with, then talk to them about that and bring it up with AoA.

Default Depends on the car and the location

Why shouldn't a popular car sell for MSRP? If that's what the dealer is asking and that's what the local market determines it's worth, then that's the selling price.

Although I do have to add that, in just a brief chat with the folks at Keyes, in light of me being a returning Audi customer they started making all these concessions.

I can't think of one current Audi model going for MSRP, that was my point. And Van Nuys isn't rural

Default van Nuys routinely ASKS over MSRP. Doesn't mean they get it.

The supply of the new A4 is going to get very tight. Most dealers already charging very close to MSRP in SoCal already.

Default Until you are stuck with it for 3 days!

My dealer is the same although they use Alamo, last time I got a '99 Chevey Malibu with 50k miles that was plenty dirty and of course it was the last one so I was stuck. Not trying to compare with BMW but when I had my '97 M3 my dealer in would always give me a BMW loaner which was generally a 1-2 year old 3 series from their used car lot with 10,000 miles or so. I can understand that using new cars as loaners would be expensive but why not take the 1 or 2 year old used cars and put them in the loaner car fleet. How much less would the car be worth with 3 or 4k additional miles on them? Another area where Audi is lacking. Just a side note, my father has a lexus and the dealer drops off a lexus loaner at his house and picks up his car and returns it when the service is complete, I could get used to that!
