Hello all,

We currently owns a 1999 A4 1.8TQ and we love this car. However, we are expecting our first child in 4 months and we don't think the A4 will be big enough for us. I noticed many A6 owners have kids, so my question for you all is, dose an A6 sedan's back seat roomy enough to fit a child seat and two adults comfortably? And is the trunk large enough for strollers and stuff.

We really appreciate any thoughts on this matter.

The baby seats are actually quite large --larger than the booster seats they use at age 3 or 4. Assuming you put the baby seat in the middle, you could put two adults on either side, but only in a pinch.

So, the answer to your question may be that the A6 does not gain you much. Although the trunk is huge.

but as for fitting confortably two adult and a baby seat, no car will do this. Two adults and the baby seat will fit but tight so rear passengers will not be confortable.

2 adults can fit next to the infant carrier but it will be tough for them to get to their belts. Most carseats will overlap with the belts.

We have put four adults and our daughter in the car at the same time but usually only for short trips around town.

I have a Britax Roundabout in the middle and 2 small size adults can fit but quite tight. (Don't plan on taking long trips like that). As far as strollers are concerned, I've fitted 2 full size strollers in the trunk.

but, we don't carry 2 adults too often in the back with her. I would say for short trips it would be fine. As everyone says, the trunk is great! Even on long trips, with a lot of stuff, there's always enough room.

Get an S6 Avant, then you can take the dog and some gear along (very quickly as well!
