Default 1974 VW Standard Beetle

I owned that car from age 15 until age 26. By the time I was done with it with it it was a terror on the drag strip and handled beautifully with its wide mag wheels, heavy duty sway bars front and rear, slightly lowered and KYB shocks, 1871 cc motor with dual baby dell carbs and S&S dual quiet exhaust, hotter cam and ratio rockers, polished and ported heads, close ratio tranny with a 5th gear, tranny straps, limited slip... With the right set of tires and a nearly empty gas tank I could get it to do wheelies... The only thing I never did to it was repaint it. It's original VW pumpkin orange paint still had a nice gloss.

My wife made me sell it due to its lack of A/C and us living in Georgia at the time.

Default '79 Pontiac Trans Am with Olds 403 option engine

De-smogged engine only made 200 or so horses, but plenty of torque. T tops were nice...

<center><img src="http://images.autotrader.com/images/2006/11/3/211/888/1170628114.211888694.IM1.MAIN.565x421_A.565x382.jp g"></center><p>Not mine, but it's what I drove back in '86

Mine was a 2 door, 5-speed, gray cloth/tweed interior, Titian Red, with amber fog lights hanging below the bumper and a hand crank metal sunroof.
