When we bought my wife's Jetta at the end of her lease, VW Finance sold us an extended VW warranty for a reasonable sum. Can I expect AFS to offer an extended AoA warranty if I wish to buy my '01 when the lease ends later this year?

I'm in the process of working through AFS on the lease buyout of my S4. If all else fails, my dealer will purchase car from AFS, and resell it to me as an Audi Certified vehicle, with an extra 2 years or 100K mile warrantee for <$1500.

the markup on those policies is pretty tempting to the seller. Just remember that, like most of the other numbers in the buyout, it becomes negotiatable in today's glut of off-lease cars. Unless they have residual insurance, in which case you're scrod.

My A6 lease is due this fall and I might be interested in buying it. In terms of remaining warranty, it will be WAY under on miles and have 9 months left of the 48. Of course, the residual is about 5k more than I would be willing to pay, so it probably won't work out. However, I am curious to find out:

1. How flexible AFS is with lease buyouts and what factors are considered

2. How much much the extended warranty or CPO designation costs.
