Default Lease or buy the RS6?

I've owned three audis, but generally paid cash. No way can I do this with this one. Does leasing make sense for a guy who trades every three years and averages 25,000 miles a year? What might the lease payments be with a moderate down payment, on the order of ten or twenty percent? Spoke with my dealer today, who is giving me a bid on my allroad as an advance trade, and I am number two on his list of six sold cars for spring delivery. Picking colors/options in two months.
And regarding the M5, E55 vs. RS6 debate, I'm sure all of these are fantastic rides. Just a matter of personal preference, and as a former S6, A8 and allroad owner, I like the one with the rings. TIA for the help on paying for it.

Default You can set up a lease for up to 20,000 miles a year.

Any more miles than that, is a tad pricey. Put only drive-offs down if possible. Lease rates won't be known until the first cars arrive. An A8 ( terrible residual ) in the 72K range tends to be 3 to 4K down, and $1300 a month on a 12K a year lease.

Default Aren't leases with more miles less per month? (because residual is lowered from high mileage...)

If not, the RS6 will end up to be something in the range of $1600 per month! That's one heck of a lease!

No. More miles = lower residual = higher payment.

Default Whaaa?

With that logic I should just request a 100k/yr lease and get the thing for almost nothing.

Residual drops as miles go up. Therefore you pay more. Rental Charge = Negotiated Cap Cost -(MSRP*Residual Pct). When leasing, "You pay for what you use" ...plus interest.

Default I heard that some manufacturers may phase out leasing

due to the losses they take at the end of the lease. Is this accurate?
