Default Leather treatment/cleaner recommendations

My drivers seat looks like @#!$% and so detailer told me my seats weren't real leather... unless u have high end cars ie. Bently or Rolls then they use vinyl?? i think he didn't want to condition my seats...

Default unless you have upgraded leather, you have leather seating surfaces, the rest is vinyl

if they are really dirty, something like 1Z cockpit cleaner will help clean both the vinyl and leather. then follow up with Lexol Cleaner then Conditioner.

my avant has full leather, but my 03 had the vinyl/leather combo.

Default Actually up until 2000, everything that looked like leather in an Audi, was leather.

Obviously if a car came with leatherette (perforated), then nothing was leather, but that was rare. Only Audi and Mercedes were doing all leather at that price point at the time. Post '00, it was leather seating surfaces, and leatherette everywhere else.

Surflex is the treatment of choice for vintage stuff. Brush it on during a warm day and let it sit overnight.

Default Check the Detailing Forum on where to get 1z cockpit cleaner

Phil with www.detailersdomain.com is a forum sponsor, offers a discount for AW members, and is a great guy to deal with.

Default yes, there's a big difference between my 02 Avant & 03 sedan.....

the avant is all leather. in 03, my sedan just had the seating surfaces, and Audi changed the avant to the vinyl/leather combo.

even now, I think Audi's the only German to offer partial leather. Leather is optional on E350 and the 5s.
