How much of a job would it be? I've seen the switches for sale on ebay and I would love to have the ability to contol my headlight level. Anyone done this?

The leveling motor has 3 wires: ground, reference (12v) and variable. The level is set by the variable. A rheostat inserted between the 12v reference and the variable input should control the level manually. Would need some experimentation though: don't know which wire is which (choose from blue, pink and orange). There was a post on this some time back with a link to the technical docs for the leveling electronics.. the poster mentioned doing just what you're contemplating but I never saw a follow-up.

..to replace my US switch that had defective backlighting (at night.)
I wouldn't mind setting this up to do manual levelling too. That and independent foglight operation. Yes, I know about the wiring across the fuse panel, but that's mickey mouse.
