I've got a 2000 A6 Quattro with Xenon headlights and right now both lights are pointed at the ground. I ran the lights thru the entire range of movment with the VAGCOM so I know the motors are working. Its reading code 01537 level sensor voltage supply open or shorted to ground, and when I go into the measuring blocks both sensors are reading a steady 5.10 volts. If anyone has some suggestions they would be greatly appreciated

Looking at the schematic there is a separate supply and ground for each sensor. Plus the sensor is also separate on each. Being that each sensor is reading 5.1v I'd say look at the lamp control module J431 and/or it's supply. The two brown wires from the module are ground, check those too. My book doesn't have enough to take it further. I have the DVD version coming in, but don't know how much more it has in it.
For grins, do your outside mirrors work? Both sensors go through connectors at the A pillar. You can spot check the voltages there if you care. Should be able to see supply, ground and the sensor. ref EWD-89
