Default LLTek Cat-Back Exhaust

Anyone installed the LLTek Cat-Back exhaust? Was the valance mods a big deal? Any comments or alternate suggestions?

There have been complaints in the past about sloppy welds on the LLTek systems.

Default Alternate suggestion...

I just had a complete cat-back system done custom at the local exhaust shop for under 500 bucks total. What model are you looking to install it on?

Mine included dual glass packs, custom 2.5" pipe, magnaflow mufflers and SS tips. Do the valence mod yourself - it's pretty easy. Easier than getting rear ended like I did

I posted some pics on monday of my new setup. Go back a page or so and check em out.

Default Found your pictures of the custom Exhaust

Looks really great. How did you get hooked up with the shop? Also, it looks like you eliminated the center resonator/muffler. How is the sound?

Default Horrible quality and customer service.

Hard to go after them in Canada "EH".

Default RE: custom Exhaust

As for the shop, I had some work done on my previous K5 Blazer there. Also I asked at the shop that works on my car, Matrix Engineering, and they reccommended them as well. I stopped in to chat and we put it on the lift. Got a good quote and went for it. Seems around 350 with no resonators is a decent going price. The tube bends were real nice, and the stock pipe was only 2" I believe, so I got an upgrade to 2.5". They also made fittings to hook everything to the stock hangers.

If you search around here, you'll find loads of on muffler brands, MagnaFlow is a fairly popular choice and lifetime warrantied. DynaMax was an option for a few less dollars, but the MF's had a better fit.

Your 2.7t will vary from my 2.8. Turbos can get by without the resonator, and good mufflers will give you a nice sound. On the normally aspirated models, a resonator helps reduce the drone. I did add a balance tube before the glasspacks to equalize the levels(cheap) as opposed to the x-pipe which would be a bit better but another 120.

I definitely get a bit more drone by changing from the stock resonator to the glasspacks. I kept all my parts though, so if it gets annoying I could put the stock resonator back on while keeping the Magnaflows.

If you're going to spend the cash, do a couple searches for specifics of the 2.7t. Lots of people upgrade without buying expensive kits.
