Looking at '02 S6.... Advice?

They are all Avants. Not many S6 options but what there was
Alcanterra seat inserts
Warm weather package with a solar sunroof and rear side shades
Nav
Rear side airbags
Rear parktronic
Heated rear seats
Front comfort seats vs sport seats
Rear facing third row child seat
Later (03) cars had some telemetric options and steering wheel changes.
Without details its hard to say what to pay but a cleanlow mileage example can probably be found for $20k give or take a couple for details.

20k is low for a nice example. mid 20's is more likely...
I paid 28 for an 03 with 39k on the odo last september with heated rear seats, warm weather pkg, sport seats, no alcantara, no parktronic, no 3rd row and feel I got a good deal.

Nice ones can be found for much less now.
Keep watching. I found mine here and got an excellent deal. $18k + 3yrs transferable warranty. $20k+/- would probably fetch a decent average unit.
My '02 has sport seats, heated rear seats, alcantara headliner, and parktronic. Very clean in & out with 72k.

2002 Avant pricing falling with gas prices rising Extend Warranty not avail for 2002
Perhaps an unfair inverse relationship for us that own; I bought mine 6 months ago for $24K
42,000 miles
Nav, heated rear seats, Alacantara headliner, Nav, parktronic, comfort seats (wish they were sport)
exc condition, silver, now has RS4 18x8 rims/255x35x18 tires and Hsport bars. Nice comfortable ride, but I am using my old 95.5 S6 Avant more now as mileage is considerably higher with V8 15vs20 mpg.
A great sleeper car, as good as it gets for a 4,000# performance wagon.
One advantage a new purchaser will not get: extended warranty! They are no longer available for 2002 Avant. I bought before the 2/1/08 deadline!
I would suggest you buy a 2003, although only 400 of them around, it's worth the hassle to get the extended warranty package!
