12k miles on an '02 for $45k.
Anyone know the history of this car -searching the forum I see someone getting rid of a lemon, want to make sure this isn't that car.
And is this a good deal? Seems like it, but I'm not sure. Anything I should check for? What's the reliability of these cars? Hated the turbo lag in the 2.7t allroad I test drove.
I'd be moving from an '01 540 lease - need more room - any thoughts on this change?
Thanks in advance

...that it is certified. What color and what options? Nav? heated rear seats?
I'm trading my certified w 35k miles to a dealer for 40k

considering its low 12k miles.
A bit high perhaps considering the platform is about to go out the window. I'd try to get them down a bit more, say $41-43k. They need to move CPO units as part of their business basics franchise agreement with Audi of America - bonuses are based on the business basics, as well as many other things. I am sure they aren't having a problem moving CPO cars, but there isn't really going to be a market for a used, 3 year old mid $40k station wagon, regardless of "S" status, once the '05s drop.
And that's coming from an Audi Brand Specialist.

...auction in Florida.
They said they were Audi Executive demos - VPs and up at Audi USA.
That said, I was a bit dubious as Audi USA is FAR fromk Flordia and there's plenty of auto auctions between AUSA and Florida. Not sure why they'd ship it all that way.
But hey - you never know.

My car was a Black 02 S6 with almost 17K miles on the clock. Silver gut, PDC, rear heated seats. One thing that will be different in mine: the rear carpeted cargo cover handle/bezel is black, where the original one had a chrome handle/bezel (replaced attempting to fix a mold issue.)
This car was dropped off in Geenwich , CT last week.
The dealer should have paid between $36K & $40K wholesale for that car. Keep in mind they have to pay for the CPO ($1K-$1500) and what ever work it needed.
The S6 has plenty of room in the rear seats, where your 540 does not. If you check the audiusa.com site, you can compare vehicles, this will show you all the stats.
There are two simple mods that are a must on the S6: H-sport sway bars and a tranny reprogram. Some will state that the steering relay needs to be removed too, that is something I didn't do.
The 4.2 motor is very reliable, I didn't have any problems that ever left me stranded anywhere. There are plenty of folks here that have had zero problems with their S6 beasts.
Check for vibrations between 45-55 in the steering wheel (front wheels) and 70-80 in the chassis (rear wheels.) I had to get my road force balances down below 10 lbs and change to Pilot Sport A/S to fix vibrations.

You must read here!!!

do all the automatics have the lag I felt in the allroad? I liked the allroad but hated that lag. Can the tranny be reprogrammed to eliminate / minimize that lag?
Thanks again
