Default Re: reliability isnt great on s6s though

no kidding. What ARE you talking about? I've been quite satisfied with the reliability record of my S6 since day 1.

Default Huh? Do you own one? Other than possible wheel/suspension vibration which shows up on some cars

but not others. The S6 has had virtually no issues to speak of, and the 4.2 V8 in general has been on par with the 540.

As for fun, I'll grant you that on dry roads and with a manual transmission, the 540 is more fun. Take away either of those conditions, and the S6 wins hands down ;-) As I mentioned a few weeks ago, on one of our A6 drives here in NorCal a while back, I in my rwd Alfa, came across a damp spot on the road. Now mind you it was not running water, but it was in the middle of a curve. We were perhaps going 6/10ths or a hair more. The tail of the Alfa stepped out smartly and required a quick counter-steer to bring it back on course. The QTRs in front and behind me probably never even noticed that damp spot. IMHO, that is the true beauty of QTR.

With 26 posts to your name, I question your research, and would look forward to any hard evidence you may have to present to support your claims. Edmunds reviewers rate the 540 wagon (keeping apples to apples comparo of course) as having a satisfaction rating of 9.1, purchase price around $40K, and a cost to own and operate around $.74 per mile over 5 years. The S6 has an identical satisfaction rating, cost approx $5K more to purchase (limited production), and yet over 5 years, cost only $.01 more per mile to operate.
