I'd like to know some areas to look at (ie. tie rods and other suspesion, engine issues, tranny...). I just sold my 4kqs before a move across country and really miss drivig an Audi.
The car...1995 A6, 144k miles, some maintenance records, automatic, fully loaded, very clean, asking $5000/OBO.
Let me know your thoughts and what to look for. TIA.

but, check for oil leaks (valve covers and main seal), electrical gremlins (especially HVAC), and rear output shaft seal leaks.
do an overall inspection. these aren't cheap cars to fix, but are tanks and should last a bit if you get a good example.
make sure the tranny is smooth and shifts well, if not SKIP.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a6100/</a

maintenance was performed (including water pump, idler, tensioner, thermostat), that the auto tranny has been regularly serviced (every 45K miles/4 years is recommended), and then the normal maintenance items (oil/oil filter, brake fluid, hydraulic fluid, brake rotors/pads, etc.) have been performed when required. Also, check for oil leaks (rear seal on the Quattro is a problem area).
