Greetings all!! This is my first post and hope you all can help. I'm looking for an Avant S6, blk/blk, third row seat, as many options as possible, and hopefully CPO'd. I have searched all the usual channels and there are a couple out there but would like to find one closer to North Carolina. Thanks for your help. george

yourself to CPO. It's a limited program, NOT a warranty, and only adds two years to original term. You won't find 2002 with it now, they should all be too old unless an Audi dealer has held the car in his inventory for very long (ask, why?) and it's still covered. Only a few hundred 2003 out there. INMO, aftermarket extended service contract is a better option for a used car purchased outside of CPO (or even alongside the CPO for someone who won't hit 100,000 miles within 2 years or less following the 4/50 coverage expiration). Further, S6 is a better risk than an allroad as for ownership issues, a less complex car, even if not fully "insured". Again, know that CPO does NOT continue factory coverage but is something totally different and limited in scope. I have a link here. sight unseen except for pictures and the insight of fellow AW'ers. Finding a black on black S6 close to you is next to improbable. There were only 800 in '02 and 400 in '03 imported to NA. TOTAL cars. Pick a couple colors if this is the car for you. It's a very nice car and you won't be disappointed. CPO would be nice but if you work on the car yourself....

I suggest you take a look at the cars at California Motorcars, AKA California Audi. You may have seen his ads on Cars.com or Autotrader.com. The owner, "Audi Bob," is a total Audi nut. I think he has 6 or 7 S6s right now, and he is in Pennsylvania looking for more. He deals mainly in S-cars and Allroads. He is very very S6-smart and a super nice guy. Look at the last post on that thread. That was his inventory as of a few weeks ago. If you see a car that fits your criteria, call him and ask for more info. He's very picky about what he buys and he's very honest and straightforward about his cars.

car I wanted. He located it, bought it, shipped it to California. We had an agreement that if the car was in the promised condition I would buy. It was and I did. He is not the ultimate cheapest deal but specializes in pristine cars. After the sale, he even called the original owner and found the cargo cover. They shipped it to me at no charge.

He tends to be a "little" bit more expensive but in my case I think it was worth it as I got a pristine example with a little factory warranty left. Now if I could just quit screwing it up. ;-)

If you need 3rd seat get a well rated minivan with front facing 3rd seat.

Recent post by an Avant owner after his wife got rear-ended was scary looking, kids in 3rd row would have been seriously hurt or killed.
