After STFA I found that i am not the only having that issue. It used not to bother me that much but now it gets more and more noticeable and annoying. I just can't stand it anymore. I've red that the repair would cost me about $1k at the stealership. Lol isn't that way to overpriced. I was just wondering if DIY is an option. In fact I have a donor car at the local junkyard. maybe i can buy the needed parts and change them myself. I don't know if matters but i have non-sport package. is there any significant difference between the sport and non-sport seats. I believe no since I've seen many guys upgrading their A6s with sport seats.

I couldn't tolerate the slight rocking/sliding feel when I'd get on the brakes or accelerate. My dealer's service rep took about $150 off the total price for parts and labor because he thought it was an outrageous expense for something so simple as a broken weld. If a pair of black/onyx sports seats had been available at the time, I'd have jumped. The classifieds had a sports interior from a RS6 last week.

...a broken "wheel" on one of the feet that run the the seat rails. It could also be something in the seat frame itself that is causing this. Worst case is the rail itself, which would require some welding to replace.

it could be the rail, a roller, something in the seat base, or even a loose bolt in the subframe of the seat base or one of the two that attaches the seat to the car. I typically take my seats out once a year for a full interior cleaning though I kinda skipped that so that this year, and I check all the bolts to make sure nothing's loose. it's an especially easy task with these cars.
