Got a call this morning that the Warranty company has agreed to pay $2870 for the repair (dealer wanted $3900 for the repair).
The dealer is sticking me with a $100 bill saying thay cant go any lower and given that I owe them $105 for diagnostics anyways (if i decide to go elsewhere for repairs).
With thsi recent repair my total warranty claims paid will be near $5700 on a warranty that still has 1 year left. I wonder if they will pay any claims from here on, as they have already paid out double of warranty original cost.

Hey I had the same issue with my a4 , I took it to my dealer ( god bless them) and my extended warrantee paid for a complete factory rebuilt engine .... Which was a miracle considering I had a stage 3 tune , intakes , exhaust , and other modifications. Long story short have your lifters , cams, and heads replaced ! Unbelievable results !!! Extended warrantee 4,000$ ..... New engine .... Priceless

Boy those guys make absolutely no money on us! I can't remember how much my extended warranty was, but I'm thinking around 1500 to 2000. Of course the torque converter on my 2002 2.7T needed replaced within six months, I think that was 3 to 3 1/2 thousand right there. Then the dealership replaced some resistor for the air conditioning or something which was another 500 to 600. (Later on through this site and my own work I found out that the issue was the blower motor not the resistor at all) and they paid a couple other small things, I think maybe the secondary air injector.
All in all there was a least $4000 worth of service if not $5000 worth of service, every time the car went in I was worried they were just going to refused to cover my claims anymore.
Best money I ever spent and everyone told me that was just a scam to make profit off me, lol.
