I changed my thermo switch last year. So far no problems. The fan and pump kick on more often now. Anything to help the life of the turbos is a good thing.

Default I did it last year. Best money I've spent. Cheapest turbo timer there is.

Don't worry about the battery usage. The way I see it, if you drive more than 5 minutes the battery will be fully charged back up. Also no worries about the auxiliary pump. They do leak on occasion, but the leakage doesn't have to do with use.

Default I jsut suggested this mod to someone in a post below yesterday

Cheap mod, and one of the most psychologically satisfying I've ever done.

Recomendations? Yeah: do it. Super easy - will take you about 10 minutes.

When I checked the part number with my dealer, his parts system indicated that the only application for this thermo-switch (part number 021 919 369)was a VW Eurovan. Is that correct?

Any issue with using this part on an Audi? (I have 2000 A6 2.7T)

That's correct. Qcrazy and Modified A4 got creative to find this switch. BTW ECS has them.

Did this mod last year and it has worked perfectly. Easy to do and as others have mentioned, peace of mind hearing the fan and pump doing it's job after shutting the engine down. Also did the RS6 fender liners just prior to the thermo-switch mod and it's amazing how much heat passes through these liners when the thermo switch kicks in.
