Having an acceleration problem that VAG has pinpointed to the MAF sensor with code 16487. Signal too high. No warning, it just started after refueling. Car stumbles as when attempting to accelerate. Nursed it home. Removed MAF. No debris. Filter and inlet good. Car ran fine and strong just before it began. Looking for feedback.

GO to Autozone and buy some MAF sensor cleaner. Try that first before you buy a new MAF. Know another Audi owner with same engine? Trade MAFs to see if it's really bad.

I believe I ruled out bad gas. I have a VAG COM. Tried resetting several times after cleaning, and also checked the gas cap. Code immediately returns. No luck. Car runs fine with MAF disconnected. Looks like a new one is in order. Thanks to all for the feedback. Gene
