This makes me proud to own an Audi!! Long live Quattro!!
Amazing how the car drowns out the helicopter. Id give anything to run a rally or BITD race. Think I'd prob kill a few fans though. Been to a Nevada 500, and fans always want to jump out on the track, why?? I did see a bunch of fans help out a flipped Micky truck once, Im sure he was obliged, anyways, turn it up and enjoy, if youve already seen it, watch it again...

The highest spec car was the Walter/Michelle S2 for the Pikes Peak challenge.......
Hannu Mikola did the Shelsley Walsh hill climb in an S1 and came within about 4s of the single seater record and held the closed car hill record for about 10 years.

Depends on the source
Some say it was 530HP, some 550 some 630. But AudiSport actually built 2 chassis with 1000HP, but during testing the drivers said it was totally undriveable and it never was campaigned.

Yes, there is a point where it is too much
300HP on most courses is more than enough to get into trouble with. Best way to learn is with an underpowered car. Forces you to drive correctly.

I guess it was around the time F1 was all 1600cc turbo engines. BMW had over 1000bhp from....
the same 4 cylinder 1600cc block as used in the 3 series of the time. It could be would up to about 1200bhp for qualifying!
