Default Man, I just LOVE this place! Fixed the blown fuse/tiptronic thing tonight...

So after a couple of antagonizing days of thinking that my hardwire Passport Smartcord install screwed something up in my fusebox and thinking of how to play dumb with the dealer, I found out tonight why fuse #31 kept blowing. The owners manual only indicates that #31 involves the backup lights, autodimming mirrors (which was hard to live without for a couple of days) and the compass mirror, the OBD interface, and the automatic transmission. However, "ga mueller" posted that the fuse also controls the sunroof and the homelink.

Well, after my son went to sleep (which is when I tackle my Audi projects) I pulled out the driver's side visor, and VOILA! One of the wires is frayed. Used some electrical tape to cover the wire, reinstalled, and everything is working just fine.

Now I just have to wait for my wife to some home, and I can take the car for a spin to see if the tiptronic thing is solved by this as well.

At the very least, I have my autodim mirrors back, and the homelink (which I will need tomorrow to go to my parent's house (linked to their garage since I have no garage).

I will get back and report if the tiptronic is working.

Thanks ga mueller, and everyone else again... AudiWorld rocks!

Isn't it amazing that a small frayed wire can cause havoc w/ an Audi!

Default Quote from my wife last night...

"Why do you think such an expensive car requires so much effort from so many people to make these thing run properly? I don't think that there's a Honda Pilot forum."

My response...

"Well, maybe my car would not have so many problems if I didn't screw around with it so much (which maybe I should have not said...). And yes, there is a forum for Honda Pilots."

Actually, I found that there are several, among them...<a href="http://www.hondasuv.com/forum_pilot/index.php">this one</a>, <a href="http://p081.ezboard.com/bmikespilotandodysseyforums">and this one</a>.

Well, off to the Honda forums for ideas. Maybe I should start pimping out her ride?
