Mechanic/Work glove recommendations?

I tore my hands up nicely last time I had to manipulate anything under my hood. Anyone have any advice on which gloves work/don't work etc?

Just be sure to get the right size, as they are not quite as flexible as latex gloves, and can restrict motion or tire your hands if too small.
