Default Same problem here

I've tried the 60-5mph braking method but it seems to come back within a week. rally said the temp. is probably not high enough if it comes back.

Default So Far So Good

Worked on bedding them this afternoon.

10 total hard stops.

5 from 30 mph - 5 mph
5 from 60 mph - 5 mph

The last couple were smokin' n smellin'

Drove around no brakes for a few minutes then parked it for an hour. Go them back up to normal driving temps and the noise is gone. Hopefully for good. Will post again if it returns.

Default Good to hear...

keep us updated on your progress.

So far mine don't squeak as much as they did at lower speeds (under 25mph) but squeak when braking from 40-25 or when under moderate but not light pressure. When I brake with light pressure, it happens less than before the bed in, and it is a different pitch now.

Default Your comments are generally sound however Mintex Red are noisier and not as smooth as Axxis Deluxe +

They are both good pads but after using both, I would definitely go with the Axxis.

Default

It sounds like the pad material is starting to coat the rotor and stay there a little more.

Default Good to know...

I have no experience with Axxis.
I'm not sure what you are qualifying as noise.
After bedding-in several sets of Mintex pads on different cars I've had no problems with noise of any kind.

Default I mean some rumbling after a slow down from very high speed as in

hitting the brakes when you get a strong signal from the radar detector (at 120MPH). I'm not knocking the Mintex but I really like the Axxis Deluxe Plus for street use and they are the cleanest pad I've encountered that is good.

Default I think I know why the rears don't squeak...

they come chamfered (beveled edges). The front ones are not chamfered.

Could this be the source of all the squakes in the front?? I'm wondering if chamfering the front mintex redbox would help any, as some pads come chamfered for the front pads (oem, and pagid i think, there may be others). Slotting the pads wouldn't be viable because of the wear senosr design.

Default Is it good once the rotors are shiny?

As in mirror like? Does this mean it's fully broken in?

Also, would spraying brake cleaner on the rotor remove any pad transfer?
