Default Mintex Red Box Pad question...........

After 3000 miles my rotors are exhibiting signs of pad build-up/warpage, etc. after running Mintex pads. I am replacing the rotors and I want to leave the pads in place as they have 95% pad left. How would you bed in the pad with the new rotors? I have heard some say to drive very mildly for a certain distance while others have said to do several high speed stops with brief cooldown periods in between, then let the rotors cool overnight. I am trying to avoid the rotor warpage issue from reoccuring. Thanks

Default You need to do 8 - 10 successive stops from 60 to 5-10 mph. Then drive for about 20 min.

to let the rotors cool. Do not apply the parking brake when the rotors are hot. You can also check out Stoptechs site for a more detailed description.

Throw those pads out. Mintex pads are awful. Worst pads I ever owned.

Default Mintex has been making pads since 1908...

they wouldn't be in business if they sold crap.

Default I guess P.T.Barnum was right. They are CRAP compared to almost any other pad out there.

They are terrible in the rain/snow and the only thing going for them is the low dusting.

Default I have nothing but good to say about Mintex...

used em on 2 S-cars in Seattle rain.

I've used Ferodo, Mintex, Repco, Pagid, Porterfield, Performance Friction and a few others I can't remember right now.
Mintex does a good job for a street pad.

No pad will perform up to spec if bed-in procedures are not followed.

Default Then we have a definite difference of opinion. I wouldn't trust them and had nothing but bad...

experiences on my car and on client cars.
