...buy a new switch for $70. What says the C5 forum?
My lovely (but rough on cars) girlfriend accidentally broke the **** off the mirror adjustment switch in my A6 this weekend. After breaking a sweat and biting my tounge, I started to imagine the cost of replacing that little bugger.
When we got back home, I briefly searched the archives and found a few relative posts: There are apparently 2 different switches; one for non-dimming mirrors and one for those with. Does anyone have a part number handy for the dimming-type switch?...also, other suggestions are very welcome.
BTW, I'm going to try and repair the broken tab and search for a used switch in the meantime.
As always, thanks in advance.
PS - I installed my custom lower grills, but left my camera at home and have a court appearance scheduled for today/tomorrow. But I'll snap photos this week and post 'em. Stay tuned.

Get a small drill and drill a hone in the broken base, insert a small post (modify a small nail). Do the same to the broken mirror now, drill a small hole, connect the two with the post and add a little super glue at the seam.
I'd think that would do it.
Or pay $70.

I'll pull the switch out and get a close look at it. IIRC, the shaft is translucent plastic about 1/8" diameter, but drilling it (them) would definetly require close tolerances.
