Default More Airbag Control Unit replacement troubles

So I went ahead and removed the rear and front center console (and all things required to remove those), and also detached the frame thing that holds the radio, climate control, etc and the buttons (although the Bentley didn't mention anything about this). However, there's still something blocking me from the airbag control module. I'm not sure what it is, how to remove it, or where/what to look for in the Bentley. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Those black things are HVAC ducts...they just slip right out.

Default Thanks again, they slipped out and I got the control module changed.

I just didn't see anything in the Bentley describing them much and thought I had gotten all the ducts apart at that point.

Now I just need to figure out (I'm searching the Bentley right now) where that duct leads to since I dropped a socket in it (should've covered it up before I did) :|.

Default Doh!! Pickup a magnet wand today...or tie a megnet to a string...

...they supply air to the rear seats via that duct panel you took out of the rear of the center console. Glad you replaced the controller...now go get that socket!

Default From a junkyard found on car-part.com

Just try to be sure it's not from a car that's had the airbags ignited, since as far as I know, the control unit can only ignite them once. AFAIK, if you get no faults (after recoding it) and the airbag light goes out, it's fine.

Bentley manual and VAG-COM required (requires recoding if it came from a car with a different airbag configuration).
