Default More Fuel for the Service Interval Debate

AutoExpress 18/7/00 (www.autoexpress.co.uk)

A new indicator could make regular engine servicing a thing of the
past. Audi Variable Servicing Interval Programme (AVS) is now
available on all the manufacturer's models. It uses sophisticated
sensors to warn when a service is needed.

This is the most advanced ever mechanism for tailoring maintenance
schedules to individual cars. Thanks to its accurate measuring,
owners of four-cylinder TDi-engined models could see service
intervals stretch from 10,000 miles to 30,000. The net result could
be savings of up to £443 in servicing charges for a car that's covered
60,000 miles.

MY2000 A6's (petrol and diesel) already have this feature in Europe
