The highest ranking non-Japanese is the Jaguar X series (?!?!). Next is the Lincoln Town Car. Then the Porsche 911.
No Audis, no BMWs, no Benz.<ul><li><a href="http://www.forbes.com/2006/02/17/reliable-luxury-cars-cx_dl_0221feat_ls.html?partner=autos_newsletter">l inq</a></li></ul>

the German (Audi, BMW, Mercedes) cars?
I am not saying you should fall at the feet of Consumers or J.D. Power or anyone else and blindly accept their methodology, but you are going to have a hard time convincing me that the Japanese don't do a better job with reliability than the Germans.

I just think the gap isn't as large as some people would have you think. It's all about information presentation;-)
After all, Toyota still has millions of engines out there with potential oil sludging issues (which never got the level of bad press that VW got), which they ignored for a very long time.

Honda is finally getting out from under the very problematic automatic tranny attached to many of their V6 cars (think the worldwide number is at 4.5 million so far).

My last Toyota was far less reliable than my Alfa.
