Default I was surprised that the Sport Seats were the fine grained leather....

I believe that is driven by the "Atmosphere" selected for the car, and Ming II has Ambiente:

Ambiente - special warmth and light of the Mediterranean, lighter colors and tones, bold contrasts, fine grained leather, sycamore wood trim, aluminum trim in Pearl

Ambition - memories of classic touring cars, come alive in richness, walnut wood trim, aluminum trim in Graphite

Advance - your natural side, warm earth tones, with soft leather (heavy graining), walnut wood, aluminum trim in Titanium

Just go find a six speed sport my friend....

Default lucky you! don't think I've ever seen that leather on sport seats. Great find all around. Now,

you need to assess the Giac X chip vs. what you had....

Any chance your Giac S could be reconfigured for an '00 2.7T (L box, IIRC)??

Default I agree...keeping it in the family, only to see it slowly get ruined would not be good..

...better to sell it to another one of "us" people who love our cars and don't view it as transportation only from point A to B.

Default It appears that the X is 20-30 more hp than the S chip...

The 2 ECUs I have are 4B0 907 551 T, one is stock and one is chipped. You could ask a GIAC dealer if this would be interchangeable with your '00.
