Default Multitronic trouble, update.

You may remember the problems I have with my Multitronic transmission, the display kept on flashing (see pics).
And this is the second time this year.
Last time they replaced a chip, and the whole transmission had to be removed to reach the chip, cost $ 2000, luckily the car is still under it's 2 year guarantee.
Well I made an appointment, and brought it to the Dealer yesterday.
Well they found out that only replacing the chip for the second time wouldn't be a good option, so they also decided to reset the car, with some kind of Cd-rom.
But that's not all, now they are asking some Audi people from Germany, to take look at the car, and see what to do..
Sounds like fun.
Another thing weird thing happened a couple of times, when I shift into 'D' the car stalls, and the engine stops...
Well that's all folks, I will keep you updated!

DJ

Default Yes, that is transmission limp mode, no doubt.

D.J.P., has this transmission ever been serviced?

Even given the newness of the car, I'd consider doing this, if it wasn't done. It would at least eliminate the filter and fluid level as causes of the problem.

Procedure for your car is pretty much identical to this procedure.

Default Hope it works out. For those who cannot read German...

the rest of the display essentially reads "depress the brake pedal to shift into drive."

Are the U.S. displays in English or in German?

Default US displays are in English...

although I am thinking about using a VAG COM to change "PHONE" to "TELEFON" when I am on handsfree. Not sure if this requires all language settings to be changed, or jif it can be isolated to the phone settings.
