My 2004/5 ar does not have heated seats. If I bought some, are they "plug & play"?

Default My 2004/5 ar does not have heated seats. If I bought some, are they "plug & play"?

My ar came from Hawaii and is one of the few without heated seats out there. I have an opportunity to buy some used seats that are heated. I've already got a new HVAC unit that has the seat heater controls on it. Just need to know if the wiring harness for the seat is "plug & play". Anyone ever done this or know how?

Default Having just done this - the answer is no. Well, my MY 2000 did not have the harness anyway.

Check under your seats where the wiring harnesses plug into the bottom of the seat - the green plug is heated seats. If you don't have it, wiring is not there.

It is not a complicated wiring system though - I can send you a pdf from the Bentley if you want a wiring diagram or feel free to email me with questions. You'll have to mostly pull the center console and drop the driver's knee bolster to wire it up. GL!

Default dparnas, you're in NorCal right? You really want/ need heated seats? However...

I do understand.

Default I believe you need to have compatible wiring harness under your existing seats for plug and play.

Look under seats for connector that isn't being used - can't remember the color (yellow?)

brown connector for heated seats, and the C5 was NOT prewired for that unless heated seats installed

Default Green is for heat; brown is seat memory.

Oops, I stand corrected...GREEN for heat. Regardless, I would be suprised if the car has them
