I moved the car to the driveway went back at the end of the day to start it and it just cranks like there is no spark or no fuel getting to the car. Any ideas on what might be wrong. I am charging the battery right now but can't figure out how this could just stop working. I wonder if I need new spark plugs they have 50k on them.

the floor and turned the ignition and it caught ....I think there is a write up for this..something about fuel pressure build-up for cold-starting or something...

I had the timining belt done and waterpump...etc. Plus I had the tranny fluid changed and filter. Never had the problem again. Next will be plugs and wires....

or used for short trips. Use some BG44K or Redline fuel cleaner and some copper plugs (shorter lived but seem less prone to fouling).

SAME thing happened to me, all you have to do is change the spark plugs........my A6 2.8 1998 did that one morning after i drove it breifly to move into garage, DO NOT pump more fuel into the engine then shut car off, it floods the spark plugs & the oil filter...., if you start it move it then turn off do not press the gas pedal much, like revving it....
happened only once, dealer fixed with a TUNE UP.
i am 100% sure this is the problem.
