Default My A6 went Kaboom!

Well, 7:15 in the morning..I had been working all night. On my way home, doing about 55 and saw what looked like a Smoke Rooster tail like when the F1 cars go Kaboom. Pulled over to a safe place, had to wait a couple of minutes to get out because the smoke was everywhere. Never lost power or drive train. Coolant Temp Warning light with Buzzer.
Coolant under the car and around engine bay. Opened the hood and it heard garling noise.
My guess, JUST when I was calling around pricing Timing belt service, the DAMN water pump let go. WTF!!!..Car is JUST 5 years old and 51K miles...
Car towed to the dealer (was just 3 miles from dealership)
Now I get to wait till monday and let the dealer Rape me..Why couldnt it be something that woudl be covered under CPO...AAARGH

If the water pump went, that would be under CPO I thought. I hope it is for you! Good luck!

Agree. Not sure why a failure that would not be covered. You should be fine.

Except mine was a stuck theromstat that caused it to overheat on the way TO work

Default my cousins was covered under CPO warranty

because the service manual states that the timing belt didn't need to be changed until 105K, they covered it under warranty. Dealer agreed that water pump is typically changed when timing belt is changed.

he had all his service intervals done at that dealership, so they didn't have any reason to say that it wasn't properly maintained, i.e. owners neglect.

Default if a component causes the timing belt to break, it is covered under CPO

tensioner siezes, water pump goes, etc, will be covered under CPO.
