Default Is my ABS sensor finished?

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/39891/sensor.jpg"></center><p>Having a few promlems with the ABS light &amp; (O) symbol on the dash display lighting up on intermitent occasions. Search throu the forums for advice.
I ve removed the nearside front sensor to clean, &amp; found a small hole worn throu the tip would this be the fault? Ive attached a picture, what do you guys rekon?

(Im trying to get hold of a obd lead for my laptop to check the fault codes, this week)

Its not the module that's gone - it's the sensor

Maybe. The sensors are pretty durable...the modules are not.

Default Need to read codes.

When inserting sensors, push until they contact the ring on the CV joint, then pull back 2mm or so. I learned the hard way.

That hole isn't good, but may not be the problem.

The HU's are more durable than the sensors. Believe me.

Default Depends. if you can read the ABS computer, it's the sensor..

if you CAN'T read the ABS computer, it's possible that the ABS controller is deceased.

Default BTW, you can get just the ABS controller as an Audi part now.

This is brand new, in the last 3-4 weeks. You used to have to buy the complete ABS assembly, including the hydraulics. Over $2k, vs around $500.

I ve connected to the a6 with VAG Tool, Im having a few promlems, I keep getting "No Response From Controller".. although I did get connected once and it said there were no fault codes.
Im Using Release 311.2-N Vag Tool,( I tried all the others with no luck)
