My Jaguar A6 2.7T - Problems Galore

Today my "check engine light" came on and the instrument cluster screen began to fade in and out. On Sunday the clock portion of the instrument cluster began to fade in and out. Three weeks ago the airbag light came on and the entire SRS control module had to be replaced. Three months ago the signal lights shorted out. All this happened within 5 months and 6000 miles. We didn't have this many problem with our A4 in its entire 3 year 43,000 mile stay.
We now regret our choice not to get a 530i.

My 99 A6 2.8 Quatttro had a lot of electrical problems, with lights going out, and dash board signals turning on and off. I traded that for an 01 A6 4.2, and in 9000 miles, not one problem.

Obviously this is unusual, even from my perspective. I also had the airbag control module failure, shorting out of relay(s) etc. . ., and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
We are in the minority however. Once they manifest, electrical based issues can be next to impossible to eliminate entirely because of the complexity and volume of wiring going into a car such as this.
Since the root or core problem can exist virtually anywhere within the system the only real way to almost guarantee long term resolution is to reinstall the main systems and/or sub-systems.
Good luck, don't get too discouraged.

The solution...
my brother had a lot of electrical problems with his A4 avant. AOA bought the car back from him and gave him a 2000 A4 avant,no extra charge.
Electrical problems suck. After it happens three times, audi should give you a new car.

At least Audi problems don't leave you stranded. Overheated BMWs due to bad thermostats and defective auxiliary cooling fans have been common lately. Who knows what long term danage that might cause.

Of course everything else comes under the heading of maintainence - replace rusting fenders according to owners manual. check. Replace dash gauges according to manual. check. Replace blown heads according to manual. check.
No, no, it's actually been very good over the years !!!!! Failures have been the starter, alternator, fuel pump relay.
