OK, so that all begs one question. How close to 219mph has been verified. I mean, did you get to 219 and it just WOULDN'T go ONE MORE frigging mile per hour???

Would have bought an M5 a couple of years ago, but I felt the prices were being kept too high, a new model was on the horizon, and the BMW service dept in my area were a buncha ^&^&%& !
In fact, the local dealer's arrogance probably turned me off BMW forever.
I love the E55 AMG...just couldn't justify spending 80 large on a car that was going to log major miles each month right from the get go and be dodgy in the winter..
I've always loved Audi and have had one in our family since 1975. Its the perfect all season AWD highway cruiser..THE BEST OPTION OF THE THREE
In fact, the local dealer's arrogance probably turned me off BMW forever.

My kneejerk reaction was to say YES !
But then i got to thinking...my Ruf is faster both on the lower end and the upper...
They are going to build 1500 CGT's..I hardly think this is exclusive and I think the 440k asking price may fall on the resale market...
Only 399 enzo's were made, <100 McLarens, 250 odd GTO's....I consider those true rarities deserving of their price...For me, the CGT is too mass produced for its price...
The local dealer has an allocation for 3 CGT's..two are spoken for, and they offered the 3rd to me for a 50k non-refundable deposit, and no guarantee on the final price as "a certain market mark-up may apply"

The fastest I have been so far is a brief burst to 180mph..solid as a rock and still pulling like a beast...
When i had the Ruf build done, I had them do the suspension, wheels, 315/25/19 contis on the rear, exhaust, turbos, ECU, instrument panel and the 550hp "package"...I was told by the Ruf tech that came over from germany that it is actually closer to 600 hp (standard R Turbo is 520hp). I also had them install an optional taller 6th gear for a top speed of 219mph. Some guys who have ran in the desert in Nevada tell me that some windshield taping and mirror removal helps to go even faster.
I will post some pics of the actual build...
