It happened at work in our parking lot. We get alot of traffic, our
shopping center includes a Firestone tire center and an Indian food
resteraunt so it's hard to beleive no one saw this happen or how
someone could stand there and take the plate with people walking and
driveing by. So I get to spend tomorow at the DMV. I guess it
could have been worse. Like one of my co-workers said, better your
license plate than your car.

Turned up a couple weeks later on an unregistered car at a private tow lot. Apparently it was illegally parked - so at least they got their just desserts.

I've had my plate over 25 years. I'd hate to lose it. I wonder if attaching it to the holder with strong double-stick mounting tape would help. This might be OK if you could figure out a way to get the plate off without bending it. Allen-head, star-head or one-way screws might be good, if compatible ones could be found.
