Initial impressions: gutless (yes, even compared to my old tired 2.8) will NOT go in a straight line. Handles like a wet towel. Seats are incredibly uncomfortable. Yay me.

bought a '97 w/ 150k miles on it private party in '02. Paid $3k for it, put about $300 into it for brakes, tune-up, tranny maint. etc. Drove it for 3 yrs and put 30k+ miles on it and about $250 worth of repairs put into it and then dumped it for $2k. Unfortunately, the most boring but the most reliable car/best value in transportation I have ever owned.

I would nominate it for the quintessential generic "car".
