Navigation question for TeddyBGame (or anyone else)...
How difficult will it be to retrofit the Audi Navigation system in my 2000 A6. I am thinking about the US spec nav (not Nav+ or DVD Nav). I do not think my car is wired for navigation (not sure).

I always wondered that myself
I don't think it's very easy....do you have a system? It has a 20 pin connector just like the back of the radio does.....and a lot of wires attached to it....you'd have to figure out how to integrate all of those wires into it.
Why not just get a Nav Plus system? Jon Lofquist has one for the A6 right now.....email him at jonlofquist@aol.com.
It is a much simpler install and well documented.

I want to also put in the in-dash CD changer (Symphony II)
I know it's not the most popular way to go, but I can't imagine that it's that much more difficult to install than the Nav+. It might be at least as much effort. (Or am I really wrong about that?) Even if the car is not pre-wired for it, I'm hoping it's not much more than running the OE harness front to back, the antenna, then plug 'n play.

It's never been done before...probably because it requires more wiring work.
Feel free to drop me a line and we can talk off-line.
As for adding a Sym II, because it is CAN-based, you would run into problems with lack of illumination, ignition power (which means it would power off after 1 hour) and the GALA speed signal. Do a search on the TT or Audio forum for more details.
The Nav+ isn't that hard of an install...but it does require a bit of pre-planning.
