Default Yes. See pic for good mounting location:

This is my remote unit. Works well here - still near peripheral vision, and the mute button is a very short hand motion from the steering wheel...

Since the lights are red, it blends well with the OE dash lights, and is sufficiently hidden from view from all directions.

Default Yes...it's well worth the price, when hooked up, it turns the lights off on the main unit

which means no one behind you can see if there's a radar aimed at you. So if you're hit with a radar, you quickly slow down, get in the slow lane and let the other guys face the music. It also helps if there's a cop behind you...he will have no idea you are packing a detector.

I have the V1 and the Escort 8500 - I prefer the V1.

Default I have the passport, I test drove the V1 and for my daily drive it falsed way

too many times. When the passport goes, I know there is radar. I also like the multiple tracking feature, this has saved me more than once. Either is great!

Default no problem...good way to test radar detector range is to drive by the goethals

my passport went off at the same time the V1 did. I didn't get a direction but the 8500 is cheaper...

Default V1's arrows are invaluable...
