Need code lookup pls: Code = 6397
I'm trying to verify what this code is and if anyone can assist I'd greatly appreciate it.
I've been trying in vain to get copies of all my service history but that isn't possible according to the service department. Apparently, the only history are invoices which has all of the accounting information on it. Thus, I am unable to receive copies to present my case to the BBB as well as my lawyer for warranty issues.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a6/msgs/540663.phtml">HVAC lights go bright/dim, tach drops to zero, ESP&CE light come on - part VI AOA Warranty DENIED</a></li></ul>

Re: dude, I'm looking
Hey try calling another dealership and asking about the code. Actually the dealership I go to has all the good info. Laurel Audi in Westmont IL. I am sure they can help (or at least) steer you in the right direction. would you like the phone number???

It is possible...
If you can't find someone here with it, call Bernardi Audi Service Dept in Natick, MA - I got my A6 used, and I called them, they printed out a copy of all warrenty work done with Audi (Display Service History) and sent it to me, with these codes, but Steve (the guy I delt with) deciphered them and wrote down next to each one what it was (ex. AM-0348 - 50k service; W2-4653 - rear break rotors). Maybe you can get the same. If you know the dealer that sold the car originally, or did all the of previous work, contact them because Audi dealers can only pull up warrenty work that was done at different dealers. Only dealers that did nonwarranty work can pull up that they did, it's not available to everyone. I hope these are the codes you are talking about.
Good luck, I hate dealing with car stuff, especially when you have nothing to work off of.

I find it hard to believe that I cannot get a copy of all of my serv history from the Serv Dept
but maybe it is difficult? Either way, all I want is all of the work performed on my car with what codes the Check engine light recorded. I'm wondering if AOA has instructed these records be frozen so that I cannot submit to my lawyer? Hmmm.
