Default Need help from 2.7T Tip with OEM sports suspension owners...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/100193/optional_code.jpg"></center><p>
MY previous post eneded up in a dispute between 2 users, so I'm writing a new one.

Now that I know that OEM sports suspension lowers the car by 2cm, I would like to buy a new set of OEM sports spring to match with my Eibah prodamper.

However, I have no information concerning the part number, and I had to do some research to find out the right one.

In doing so, I found out that the optional code sheet usually attached on the first page of the warranty voucher(as shown in the picture I have posted) contained the necessary information.

Mine has a non-sports suspention, so it doesn't help.

1BH stands for standard suspension
1BE stands for sports suspension

OJ* and OY*(mine has OJN and OYS respectively) represents front and rear axle weight class respectively.

What I want to know is the front and rear axle weight class of your A6 2.7T Tiptronic OEM SPORTS SUSPENSION models or if possible a picture of your optional code sheet, which will be of great help when I order the parts.

Please specify the MY as well.

Default do a search. The springs will only be coded by a color "stripe" on springs

The ones I took off of my 2003 6-speed were "pink" in the back and "brown" in the front, I think.

Before you get demanding on the forum, how about you walk into a parts department at an Audi dealer and do some research?

How about you try going to a dealer and looking at all their used car inventory yourself?

Have you even ever driven a sport suspension car? How do you know you will even like it?

What do you think the correlation is between ride hight and ride quality? Is it linear(excuse the pun!)...

You are doing trial an error with big $$$ install each time.

What happens if your rough ride is more about the shocks vs. the springs? Are you then going to spend MORE $$ to replace the shocks too?

You are approaching this all wrong, both in your methodology and your posting style.

In addition, I STRONGLY recommend you switch to coil overs if you are thinking about keeping the car.

Default Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the advice.

I previously used the OEM non sports susepnsion and now using Eibach prokit spring, and prodamper.

After running with this setup for almost an year, I am happy with the current setup except that the height is too low for every day use. I did a lot of research before buying the Eibach kit, but the height was lower than I expected.(My mistake if you want me to admit it.)
I get rubbing every time I go to an underground parking lot and have hard time clearing bumps with passengers in my back seat.

I only need a little bit of more ground clearance but don't want to go back to OEM non sports. That's all! I don't care about the ride quality. I never mentioned about 'rough ride'.

I visited the part department at a local dealer. They showed me the ETKA with so many different spring setups and they said they needed more information.

I know that springs are color coded, and there are more than 1 color for each spring, not just brown of pink like you mentioned but like 1 brown mark, 3 blue marks, and 1 brown mark, 2 blue marks each with different part number to represent different axle weight classes. The difference maybe subtle, but I just want to find out the best suiting part.

That's why I turned into this forum for some help.

Thanks anyway.

Default I'll trade you my (OEM Sport Set) for your Eibach Pros...

But w/my luck, you're probably not local, so consult the OEM parts list link in my sig. It'll have the part numbers for both the sport springs and dampers. That's how I knew what I was being sold, when I bought my sport set-up 24 months ago (w/25k).

Default I forgot to mention that...

I forgot to mention that I'm not living in the US.

I used to stay there, and had my car brought back to Korea when I came back.

Here I have very limited information, because only 1.8T, 2.4 and 3.0 C5 models were sold here. That's why even the dealers here have very limited information concerning the 2.7T model.

As for the options, there was no sports suspension available here. That's why I had to resort to the US forum for more information.

However parts can be stiil ordered if I know the exact part number.

Thanks!

Default I searched...

I searched your sig. and on page 87, part number 34 was the spring.

Part number for the Quattro model is 8DO 411 105 AT.

However this doesn't specify the front axle weight range. I looked up the ETKA and there were 8DO 411 105 BM, 8DO 411 105 BA, 8DO 411 105 AP and so one.

Maybe I will have to search more...

Default Maybe next time you can look under the car, grab the color band sequence from the springs...

that will help identify what the part number is for the srpings on your car...for future reference of course.
