Default Need Help decoding VCDS-Lite (VAG-COM) codes!!

Ok so I've had multiple issues with my wife's A6. I finally downloaded VCDS-Lite from Ross-Tech and used my buddy's VAG cable to read the car.

I currently have ABS and brake lights on but my VCDS can't communicate with the ABS controller. Does that mean the ABS module is toast?

I also have an Airbag light and same issue with ABS...can't communicate with Airbag controller.

Here are the codes I did get:

Can anybody help me out? Do these codes give out actual part numbers of parts I need to replace?

If I reset the locking codes, will that fix my driver's door locking problem?

thanks in advance.

I have a hunch that your brake light switch(on brake pedal mount) is causing the ABS and brake lightr problem. Common issue and fairly ez to replace.

Clear the interior motion codes and they will go away. All that means is that the motion sensor triggered the alarm sometime. Probably when you left a window open on a windy day and locked the car.

Do you have any door locking symptoms? phantom door locking and unlocking?
If so, door locking issue might be the micro switch in the driver door near the lock starting to go. If you're thrifty, this $2 switch can be replaced with a Radio Shack contact switch and mounted down near the bottom of the door. The non-kluge approach is to replace the door locking mechanism, which I did. $179 with discount from dealer. Took me about 2hrs to remove the door trim, window module, and loosen the handle to get the locking mechanism out. Could do it in less than an hour second time.

May also be some harness issues.

Clear the air injection code and see if it comes back. Not sure what it is since I think my 2.7 is different. My wife's 4.2 Touareg threw a code like this a couple of years ago and it never came back.

Yes, the locking issue I have is that with the remote, the driver's door won't lock or unlock. The remote will lock and unlock all the other doors. So to lock all doors we have to put the key in the whole to lock and unlock the driver door. At firts both the driver and left rear doors wouldn't lock or unlock but miraculously the left rear door works fine.

AS for the secondary air pump, i've had this code for some time and am sure it's a bad air pump. During the summer with the AC on the car sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

If the controller for the ABS won't communicate at all doesn't this indicate a bad ABS module?

[QUOTE]

Yes. Send it out for rebuild and clear all codes everywhere.

With the ABS controller unplugged, take another shot at connecting with the Airbag controller.

Check the door hinge on the drivers door for broken wires.

also when you scan the Auto trans you must put your foot on the brake or you get the code for the switch, so ignore the brake switch code.

Thanks 4D4! I was waiting for you to chime in. Thanks to everyone.

ONe more question: If I clear the central locking codes, will my driver's door begin to work again? or could it be a bad power locking switch?

Unlikely.
The measuring blocks in VAG-COM provide a ton of info on individual functions. Try to borrow one or consider an upgrade.

When you say "with the ABS controller unplugged" do you mean the ABS Module?
