Short intro:
After 4 years of service and 110k miles, the A6 is going to retire, it will become our secondary ride, replacing the A2.
It means that I'm going to need a new ride:
Basic requirements: Diesel, Nav, Xenon, Good Audio.
I'm leaning towards the A4.. (Brand new model vs soon to be replaced, summer 08, A6 C6)

If it were me, I'd be looking for an Avant...but if you'd like a saloon, the B8 is looking good on paper...we'll see how it shapes up.
FWIH, the C6 is a very reliable vehicle with minimal 'dumb little' problems.
Having said that, a coworker/friend has a V70R AWD Volvo (turbo'd gas engine) with a six speed...very nice and very fun to drive.
Tough choices.

Tough choices indeed...
The only downside of the B8 2.7TDI is that it's not available in manual, and the others are.
(Or I would have to choose the 2.0 TDI)

All the cars are expensive, it's relative.
Why do you think most Europeans drive smaller cars?
Gas is also US$8 per gallon...
For comparison, my C5 A6 was 70k Euro, or US$ 100k-ish...
